Polar Bear Plunge

Tonight for my ward home evening, the activity was the 'polar bear plunge'. The first counselor shoveled the snow off the pool cover, opened up the shallow end, and a group of us gathered around in swimsuits, shorts & t-shirts, and in one case - jeans & a t-shirt. I was one of the group.

I had done this while living in Vegas a few times, but didn't think I could use that as a way out while living in Utah.

Verdict: cold! But not as cold as I thought it would be. As soon as I got out I was feeling warmer and tempted to go back in and try it a second time. But I didn't.

I would definitely do it again.

To Do List:

:laundry
delayed it for too long... ugh
:pack for DC
so excited to be going! but any travel - even fun travel - brings with it some added stress
:write a two-page paper
due Thursday night by midnight, but since I'll be in DC... I should get it done tonight
:straighten up bedroom
not necessarily a *must* before I go, but it's always nicer to come home to a clean space
:make sure plants are watered
I've been doing such a good job keeping them alive, I don't want to risk them while I'm gone
:get 10 hours of sleep
okay, okay, I know, not possible, especially having to leave for the airport at 8 am. but I can dream, right?

Have I Completely Lost My Mind???

Just now I was trying to look up a 5k that my sister, sister-in-law, and I ran last year, and that my sister-in-law and I are planning on running this year (my sister was an out-of-town visitor last year, otherwise, I'm sure she'd run it again). When I typed in the name of it, I saw hits for the race for 2009. I purposely typed in the name of the race and 2010, sure that I had just come across an old website the first time.

Oh dear.
