Yay for Dancing!

I love these two dances:
foxtrot

50's paso doble
if you want to skip the intro stuff - jump to 1:15

a bonus from last fall:
futuristic paso doble
if you want to skip the intro stuff - jump to 1:30

I think he's an incredible choreographer.
I haven't really been watching this season, but after I saw their dances from last week, I skipped ahead to watch just their dances from last night too. They did an Argentine Tango - I've never been a huge fan of the Tango, but it looked good. And again, the judges loved it.

Tuesday's Goodness

private dance parties in my bedroom!

- created a "dance party" song list
- randomized the "dance party" song list
- busted a move
- without witnesses.
(except the dingo, but he's not willing to talk)

so fun.

while dancing, some different scenes went through my head.
for your viewing pleasure:

Right Now...

I'm lying on my bed watching Shall We Dance (not the J Lo, Richard Gere one).

Here's a sweet scene from the movie:

I can't move like that even when I don't have wheels on my feet!
They say it took over 150 takes to get the scene filmed. I'm amazed at how comfortable Astaire looks dancing on skates. I love watching him dance.

The Boys Are Back!

Did you see the premiere last night?
If you missed it, you can watch it here.
(i love the dance at the very beginning by the professional male dancers - so talented! i can't find video of it yet, but if/when i do, i'll be sure to post it!)

And don't worry, only the celebrity males danced last night, tonight you can still catch the celebrity females.

A few of my favorites (in no particular order):

Donny Osmand
seriously people, this guy can move

The Snowboarder Kid
I think his name is Louis something(?), not too shabby

Michael Irvin
not the best so far, but I think he has potential

The Iron Chef Host - Mark...
I think he's going to get better, and he started off fairly well

Tom Delay
for an older guy, he's not half bad, and you can tell he has fun with it

I also like the ultimate fighter guy - mostly because it seems like he is the farthest out of his comfort zone and you can see he's really trying. It's kind of endearing.

Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton (a former DWTS competitor) is on the show this season. After a motorcycle accident and being in a wheelchair for a year, he's taken up dancing (I'm not sure how long ago the accident was, but I think it's been quite a while now.) Sadly, he's not as good as his dad was. I think he might be the first male voted off.

The first male I'd like to see voted off is Aaron Carter. He gives me the creeps. But, he's pretty good and the judges seem to like him so I think he'll be staying around for a while.

See George dance:

Did you ever see Mr. Peterman (John O'Hurley) dance?
Unfortunately I didn't watch at all until the very last show, and then later I saw the rematch between him and the girl who ended up winning (unjustly, I might add!) - and he won the rematch.
Anyway, now watch John dance!:

What to Blog, What to Blog...

I mean, I know I don't have to blog but... it's fun. Unless I have nothing to say. Which somehow seems to be the case...

Over the weekend I re-watched some of my favorite dances from past Dancing with the Stars episodes.

I'm surprised that my pick is still on! He's in the final four! I'm kind of surprised but hope that he keeps getting better and better and wins!

... it's possible...

right?

Anyway, check out his awesome Salsa from two weeks ago.

He deserves to win - he's come so far!

I mean, he's a cowboy! A cowboy who's way out of his element here.

Well, watch and enjoy!

and the song is fun too, no?

Have you seen this man?

Have you seen him do this?

Ty Murray, "King of the Cowboys," is my favorite on Dancing With the Stars. I'm actually kind of surprised he's lasted as long as he has, because he's definitely not the best dancer on the show.

I like him because he seems really nice (soft-spoken, gentlemanly) and because he first time I saw him dance (I started watching a few weeks into the season) his partner slipped on her dress and he caught her, steadied her, and off they went. Didn't phase him at all. That really impressed me. (I'm always more easily impressed by the guys than the girls on this show because the guy needs to learn how to lead and the girl just needs to learn to follow. When I took a dance class, it seemed to me that following was easier than leading.) Of course, he's used to doing this:

so that slip probably seemed like a very trivial thing to him.

I'm especially glad that he's still on the show after Len told him that unless he came out flawless during the team tango, he thought it was time that Ty "hit the trail." Luckily, he did come out with a great tango.

I'm kind of anticipating his getting bumped next week but I really hope not!
