Still Obsessed...

Have you checked out the eagles yet? Totally worth it if you haven't. I (still) kind of love watching them.

Here's proof in screenshots:
i love the profile

eating a fish

then she laid eggs!
first there were two...

now they have three!

Now is a really good time to look at the webcam if you want to actually see them. Because they're taking turns laying on the eggs, you'll always see one of them there. It's also fun to hear when one starts screeching and then you'll see the other come and they'll switch places.

I Am Now Slightly Obsessed

A co-worker told me about this webcam.

It centers on two bald eagles. It pans around to show them in their nest or on nearby branches. Sometimes (like right this moment) they can't even be seen because they flew off somewhere. I still watch and listen. I have it on one of my screens at work while I work on the other screen. Even when they're not there the sounds of the wind and other birds and occasional traffic is soothing. I think I'm kind of a junkie now.

If I understand right, they've been doing this for a number of years. If you keep watching, you'll get to see the eggs and the eaglets as they hatch. I'm pretty excited about that.

(If you click on the big play button in the center sometimes it will take you to the website and sometimes it will play on here... If you click on the small one on the bottom left, it plays right here.)

Thunderstorm!

Today we had an awesome thunderstorm.

I love thunder.

And lightning.

I think I'm fascinated by the power that's in them.

I sat on my patio with a friend for a little while during the storm. A couple of the cracks of thunder made us both really jump. They sounded like shotguns. Really close shotguns.

Other than being jumpy for a couple of seconds, I loved it.

I love thunderstorms so much that I bought an hour long mp3 of a thunderstorm.

True story.

Speaking of which, maybe that will help me fall asleep tonight.

I had the lights off by 10:00 last night, but didn't fall asleep for another hour.

I hate when that happens.

I Had Forgotten

... how fun it is to hear birds chirping outside my window.

(picture not from today, but from a little less than a year ago)
