What I've Been Doing...

(many pictures - scroll through quickly)

... At Work I've ...

...started working for safe kids utah

 ...become a certified technician in

...spent hours in the car

...driving to faraway (Utah) places

...seeing beautiful things

including the Mexican hat

...stopped at the smallest rest stop I've ever seen
(found out that the smallest rest stop I've ever seen is more like a glorified outhouse - 'glorified' because it did have electricity...)

...locked my keys in the car and waited an hour and a half for AAA to save me

...and raced little kids during a car seat checkpoint.

this week i've been spending time cleaning out file drawers and getting rid of TONS of junk left in the cubicle that i inherited along with the position. documents from '96, '97, '98...
believe it or not, there is progress in these pictures...

At home/play I've...

...watched some drive-in movies (one with a pretty sweet motorcycle-chase scene)

...gotten myself colored during a 5k with these two

(my leg - yes, i was flexing on purpose)

...seen other pretty things

...some of them while mountain biking (or walking my bike up a mountain)

and getting my mountain-biking trash kicked out of my by shauna

...hung out with these two

(belle turned her head, but before i took this picture they were both eying the pepperoni thing that graydon had in his hand)

...which included letting them help me crochet

...and re-crochet...

...and getting them ready for the halloween dog parade

...burned my arm on a 400 degree cookie sheet
(treated it immediately with a coconut oil/lavender essential oil mix - helps so much in getting the heat out)

...watched my brother (in purple) and his friends win a soccer championship

...gone through the brigham city temple (so beautiful!)

That about sums it up for me.

For now.

So Funny

If you have never seen the movie 'Sahara.' You need to remedy that. Personal opinion.

But I'm right.

It's hilarious.

I have a hard time even thinking about without laughing.

Anyway, there's one exchange in there between the two main characters (Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn) that I really like. My parents and I were trying to recreate it but couldn't remember it word for word. My parents watched the movie and my mom wrote down the conversation (thanks again Mom!). I'm putting it here so I can find it again when I want to. (:

Al: You know how it is when you see someone you haven’t seen since high school  and they’ve got some dead end job, and they’re married to some woman who hates 'em, they’ve got like 3 kids that think he’s a joke.

Isn’t there some point at which he said - Bob, don’t take that job. Bob, Don’t marry that harpy. You know?

Dirk: Your point?

Al: Well, we’re in the middle of the desert looking for the source of a river pollutant using as our map a cave drawing of a civil war gunship which is also in the desert. I was just wondering when we’re gonna have to sit down and reevaluate our decision making paradigm.

Dirk: I don’t know, it’s working for us so far.

Seriously, if you haven't seen it, watch it. And let me know that you need to watch it and I'll watch it with you. (:

Overheard*

When I was holding Belle (she's one of these) -

Jimmy: 'Iris, Eden doesn't have to carry Max around anymore because he's trained now.'

(did I mention that Max is 60+ lbs?)

*inspired by my sister's 'overheard' posts (which are some of my favorite)
