Overheard

(while on the phone with Faith)
Faith (to her kids): Stop running into each other!

and again -

Faith: Don't run into the walls.

and later -

Faith: I don't know what you're talking about, but your shoes are on the wrong feet sweetie.

Good times at Faithy's house.

Back on Track

I maybe took this picture a little too much to heart.

But as of five minutes ago (midnight) I'm back on track!

Last Night...

...I went to sleep in my workout clothes.

On purpose.

I had had that random thought on Sunday night but didn't do it. Then yesterday I was inspired by my sister who old me that she had slept in her workout clothes on Sunday night in order to minimize excuses to getting up early.

So I tried it last night.

Other than waking up at midnight, 2:30, and 4:20, there wasn't much difference.

Unfortunately, that's kind of a big difference... So I'm not sure if I'll do it again tonight or not.

But, I did finally wake up - and GET up early!

And here are the fruits of my labors (not bad for being done before 6 in the morning, right?) -

this was during my three minutes of cooling down (rounding out the 45 minutes).
the other 42 minutes were split 50/50 between running 5 mph at a 4% decline (totally works the abs)
and walking 3.5 mph at a 15% incline (with 1 minute of 40% incline thrown in there just for fun).
 i'm sore.

Walking

I just got back from a good long walk with the pups. I need to remember how much I enjoy those.

We walked around Draper park to admire the lights on the trees. I love the big tree with the white lights. It's magical. (I need to go back when it's a little darker to get better pictures. These are definitely not awesome.)

Then I came home and found the hole that Max created to slip out of the yard and covered that up. Hopefully this walk will keep him from creating his own opportunities to go on walks - at least for a few days...

Jax

Tomorrow I'll be driving to Grand Junction to meet my sister who will be driving there from Denver. When we leave Grand Junction this guy will be in my sister's van.

We've only had him here since Friday evening but that's been long enough for me to be sad that he's leaving. He's such a sweet, friendly, happy, nice, sweet... (you get the idea) dog. And I think he'll be a great dog for their family. I'm trying to convince her that it'll be worth bringing him with them whenever they come to visit Utah. He and Max would just pick up from where they left off - lots of playing. (:

Waiting...

I'm at work.

Still.

I work about five minutes away from the airport and my parents are flying in tonight - in about 15 minutes. So I didn't feel like the best use of gas/time would be to come here, work, go home, come back, go home again.

They'll call me when they land and then I'll head over. Because I really am that close.

I've been sitting at my desk going over my work plan, finishing sifting through the clutter that had filled up (and I mean FILLED up) the cubicle that I inherited with the new position, cleaned out my purse, and now blogging from my phone since I haven't done that in a long time.

And now I'll leave you with this -
(Or I'll try to leave you with 'this.' Since I'm posting from my phone I can't tell exactly where the picture will be - at the end or the beginning of the post. Oh well.)

What I've Been Doing...

(many pictures - scroll through quickly)

... At Work I've ...

...started working for safe kids utah

 ...become a certified technician in

...spent hours in the car

...driving to faraway (Utah) places

...seeing beautiful things

including the Mexican hat

...stopped at the smallest rest stop I've ever seen
(found out that the smallest rest stop I've ever seen is more like a glorified outhouse - 'glorified' because it did have electricity...)

...locked my keys in the car and waited an hour and a half for AAA to save me

...and raced little kids during a car seat checkpoint.

this week i've been spending time cleaning out file drawers and getting rid of TONS of junk left in the cubicle that i inherited along with the position. documents from '96, '97, '98...
believe it or not, there is progress in these pictures...

At home/play I've...

...watched some drive-in movies (one with a pretty sweet motorcycle-chase scene)

...gotten myself colored during a 5k with these two

(my leg - yes, i was flexing on purpose)

...seen other pretty things

...some of them while mountain biking (or walking my bike up a mountain)

and getting my mountain-biking trash kicked out of my by shauna

...hung out with these two

(belle turned her head, but before i took this picture they were both eying the pepperoni thing that graydon had in his hand)

...which included letting them help me crochet

...and re-crochet...

...and getting them ready for the halloween dog parade

...burned my arm on a 400 degree cookie sheet
(treated it immediately with a coconut oil/lavender essential oil mix - helps so much in getting the heat out)

...watched my brother (in purple) and his friends win a soccer championship

...gone through the brigham city temple (so beautiful!)

That about sums it up for me.

For now.
