I'm No Good At Fundraising...

I never have been good at it. The same day that I created this post, I emailed some people letting them know what I was doing (running a 5k through the Komen Foundation), and that I'm trying to earn money for breast cancer, and that I would appreciate a donation. Any donation, any amount. Even $1. By the end of the email, I was practically offering to give them money instead of take theirs. As of right this moment (11:55 am and 13 seconds) I have raised zero dollars. I'm just no good at asking for money. I feel guilty. Even though it's for a good cause.

Breast cancer is:

• the most common cancer in women, regardless of race or ethnicity
• the most common cause of death from cancer among Hispanic women
• the second most common cause of death from cancer among white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women
• in 2007 - 202,964 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,598 women died from breast cancer
